Come on a walk with City of London guide Cwti Green and find out where the bodies are hidden! From single burials to "plague pits" to mass graves, learn about Londoners' bodies and some of their locations.

Through its long history, London has looked after its citizens, alive and dead, more gently at some times than at others. Under our feet, as we walk around the City and its surroundings, rest the remains of Londoners. Sometimes killed violently, sometimes interred with pomp and ceremony, in churchyards, by the Thames, in Roman graveyards and medieval churches, the history of London is made present through the silent witness of these bodies.

Starting point: St Paul's Cathedral (main steps)

Duration: 90 minutes

Cwti
Cwti Green is a City of London guide, and leads walks for the Museum of London and the City of London Education Department.

She is eminently qualified to do this, being the proud possessor of a carrying voice, an Actor's Equity card and a somewhat quirky personality. As well as her knowledge of history and of many fascinating tales of the City of London, she spent the early years of the 1990s doing stand-up comedy in Scotland, because of her interest in the funny side of human nature.

So any walk with her will be a little off-beat, reasonably amusing and on the whole a very entertaining way to spend the odd hour or so!
